Migrating to Another Mac
To fully migrate WyzBooks to another computer, you need to transfer two files: your accounting data and your application settings.
Step 1: Export on the Source Mac
- Save your data file: Go to File → Save (⌘S). This creates a .wyzbooks file containing all your accounts, contacts, invoices, payments, journal entries, and items.
- Export your settings: Go to Settings → Export/Import → Export Settings. This creates a JSON file containing your appearance theme, business details, company logo, sidebar menu order, and all other preferences.
Step 2: Copy Files
Copy both files to the new Mac — via AirDrop, USB drive, cloud storage, or any file transfer method.
Step 3: Import on the New Mac
- Open your data file: Go to File → Open (⌘O) and select the .wyzbooks file.
- Import your settings: Go to Settings → Export/Import → Import Settings and select the settings JSON file. The app will reload to apply all changes.
Tip
After both steps, the new Mac will have all your accounting data and settings — including your logo, theme, business details, and sidebar layout. Everything will look and work exactly as it did on the original machine.
