Migrating to Another Mac

To fully migrate WyzBooks to another computer, you need to transfer two files: your accounting data and your application settings.

Step 1: Export on the Source Mac

• Save your data file: Go to File → Save (⌘S). This creates a .wyzbooks file containing all your accounts, contacts, invoices, payments, journal entries, and items.
• Export your settings: Go to Settings → Export/Import → Export Settings. This creates a JSON file containing your appearance theme, business details, company logo, sidebar menu order, and all other preferences.

Step 2: Copy Files

Copy both files to the new Mac — via AirDrop, USB drive, cloud storage, or any file transfer method.

Step 3: Import on the New Mac

• Open your data file: Go to File → Open (⌘O) and select the .wyzbooks file.
• Import your settings: Go to Settings → Export/Import → Import Settings and select the settings JSON file. The app will reload to apply all changes.
